Ingredients:
dalia: 1 cup
Water: 2 cups
Oil: 1 1/2 tbsp
Carrot: 1 medium
Handful beans, chopped
Capsicum: 1/2
Tomato: 1
Onion: 1
Ginger: 1/2 inch
garlic: 4 cloves
Green chilies: 3-4

Mustard seeds: 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves
Salt as needed

Turmeric: 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder: 1 tsp
Kashmiri chilli powder: 1 tsp

Coriander leaves as needed.
Dalia is actually broken wheat and its known in North India as dalia. In Kerala, it is mostly known as gothabu njurukku (broken wheat). This cheat meal – pulao is made with broken wheat and it is a filling meal which will keep you satiated for a long time and prevents snacking or binging.
You can also make this pulao with rice; but to make it a cheat meal, I used dalia.
You can add any vegetable of your choice.
This recipe serves 3.

  17. Excellent recipe!! u can try weight loss recipes using little millets like Samai, varagu, kuthiraivalli, thinai too. It is loaded with nutrients. (These are all Tamil names.). just a suggestion mam. Thanks.
